Although originally from Miami I have lived in Gainesville since 1971. While living here I have taught in the public school system for thirty years as an exceptional student and elementary school teacher, raised two sons and retired from the school system. I also obtained a Master's degree from the University of Florida in Educational Media and Instructional Design.
Six years before I retired, I knew that I needed a plan B, if you will, and decided to get my real estate license. So for the final six years of my teaching career I taught fourth graders during the day and worked with buyers and sellers in the afternoons and evenings, weekends, summers and during school breaks. After retirement from teaching I began being a full-time Realtor. That was twenty years ago. Believe it or not I still have my hand in the school system by helping by substituting when needed but devote the majority of my time to real estate.
I developed a real interest in new home development and sales and spent several years doing on-site sales, learning all there was to know about the building industry from the sales point of view. I became certified in several areas of new home sales and sales focusing on active adult developments which are a growing trend in our area.
I have won several awards for million dollar and multi-million dollar earnings, Rookie of the Year and have worked with the local board of Realtors on committees. I enjoy working with buyers and sellers equally. I know that both buyers and sellers have different needs and expectations, are working within different time frames and different budgets. Whether you are just beginning your search, or need to buy or sell your house quickly I would be very glad to meet and work with you.
