Melanie was born in San Diego, California and she moved to Florida in 1987 when her father accepted a position at the Veterans Hospital as Chief of Recreational Therapy. Melanie attended Columbia High School in Lake City and shortly after became a young mother to a beautiful daughter. All the while, her desire, strength, and perseverance allowed her to continue striving towards her goals. In 2001/2002 Melanie attended Sante Fe College to pursue a career in Dentistry. She then found a love for Orthodontics and worked as an assistant for Jacobson and Martin Orthodontics located in Gainesville. In 2009, Melanie decided to go back to school and receive an AS degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant as she always carried a love for health and fitness. During this same time, she met and married her husband AJ Yarbrough who is the Executive Director of the Department of Neurology/Center for Movement Disorders and Neuro Restoration at the University of Florida.
When Melanie and her husband bought their first home together, she found a passion for real estate. Her personal experience of buying and selling several properties allows her to demonstrate a level of compassion, understanding, patience and most of all communication with her clients. Melanie demonstrates a passion for assisting others and is always willing to take the extra steps required to get the job done. Both Melanie and her husband are cancer survivors, and along with their four children, enjoy giving back through various activities within the community. Melanie also makes a contribution from each transaction to support feeding disadvantaged children.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, cooking, working out, biking, hiking and going to all the beautiful beaches Florida has to offer.
Melanie says, “ Meeting new people and helping clients find the right property is my passion. As a former Physical Therapy Assistant, my love in helping others is what motivates and drives me.”
